Kourtney Kardashian gifted her husband, Travis Barker, with his “ideal car,” a 1987 Buick GNX, on his 41st birthday. Travis, being ecstatic, could not wait to take the car for a spin and they were often seen cruising in it around town.
To everyone’s surprise, it seems that he wasn’t joking about his love for classic muscle cars. The drummer recently showed off his prized possession on social media, complete with a photo album of the vehicle. In the caption, he proudly declared that he prefers his car over the more luxurious Ferraris and Lamborghinis. However, it’s worth noting that he doesn’t actually own any of those high-end vehicles.
Barker’s love for vintage cars is evident, especially when it comes to the orange Chevrolet K5 Blazer he recently purchased with Kourtney. This classic vehicle adds to his already impressive collection of Cadillacs.
The 1987 Buick GNX is a rare car, with only 547 units produced, and this particular one is in excellent condition. Its exterior and interior are both entirely black, which perfectly complements Travis Barker’s public persona.
The 3.8-liter V6 engine of the GNX had a horsepower rating of 276 and a torque of 360 lb-ft (488 Nm). It was capable of generating a maximum of 300 HP with a peak torque of 420 lbft (570 Nm). Additionally, it was incredibly fast, taking less than five seconds to reach 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) during its time.
Travis’ muscle car may not be the fastest in his collection, but it has sentimental value since it was a gift from Kourtney. The reality TV personality has previously mentioned that driving the car is one of her favorite activities.
Travis shared a snap of his Buick GNX on his Instagram, along with another photo that showed a box filled with “Don’t trust anyone” license plate frames on his Stories. It’s safe to assume that these frames are intended for all of his cars.
