The Porsche 911 GT-Rawr, created by AO Racing, draws inspiration from both the fearsome T-Rex and the sleek shark. Its unique design has caught our eye and we wouldn’t mind getting our hands on one.
We’re completely smitten with the shark-inspired Porsche 911. However, it’s designed strictly for racing purposes. Our first thought is, can we also have a version that’s road legal? Pretty please?
Take a look at this fierce Porsche 911 GT3 R modified by AO Racing for the upcoming 2023 IMSA and World Endurance Championship (WEC) season. Dubbed as the ‘GT-Rawr’, this car is based on the 911 GT3 R and features a bold front end with pronounced teeth that resemble a shark’s mouth. However, according to AO Racing, the inspiration behind this design was actually the ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The Porsche 911 GT-Rawr from AO Racing boasts a heavily modified exterior that goes beyond the distinctive shark or T-Rex teeth. Notably, the front end features a massive carbon fiber diffuser and a customized front trunk known as the ‘frunk.’ To enhance the car’s liveliness, AO Racing added blue and black eyes on the frunk and wrinkles around the headlamps. Essentially, the 911 has two sets of eyes, making it quite a sight to behold. Additionally, the vehicle is adorned with racing stickers.
The AO Racing GT-3 Porsche 911 GT-Rawr features a clever T-Rex analogy that is evident on the car’s door and fender where T-Rex’s arms and feet are painted. Moving to the rear of the vehicle, you’ll see another carbon diffuser that is larger than the one located at the front, as well as a massive wing. The use of green paint is consistent throughout the design, even on the alloy wheels.
The AO Racing GT-3 Porsche 911 GT-Rawr has an impressive appearance that could easily fit in the Fast and Furious or Pimp my Ride movies. It’s hard to decide whether it resembles a T-Rex or a shark more, but we like to see it as a combination of both.
